Cheese Wars

The growing trade wars have not spared the dairy industry. A number of countries have responded to US protectionist efforts with “countermeasures” on a number of US manufactured goods, cheese and yogurt among them.

It’s still too early to determine the costs of this recent trade spat, or even to ascertain whether the tariffs are likely to last, but until the negotiations shake out there’s a real cost to be paid by US manufacturers in this sector.
