This will end badly
According to reports, Romania’s president signed into law “a bill under which at least 51% of short food supply chain products such as meat, vegetables, fruits, eggs, dairy products and bread sold in supermarkets should come from local producers.” Protectionism, it appears, is alive and well in the eastern bloc.
Update (2.20.17): Romania to amend its law following a recent finding by the European Commission that the country has breached EU laws.
